Bōgōlanfini is a traditional West African textile practice rooted in Mali. Cotton is grown, spun, woven, and dyed by hand using plant extracts and fermented mud. The name comes from the Bambara language:

bōgō — mud
lan — by means of
fini — cloth

Mudcloth.

Its patterns carry meaning, historically used to communicate identity, protection, and story through design.

This piece reflects a contemporary expression of that tradition. Pattern, color, and composition become a language of their own.
