100% post-consumer fishing nets
The Cocoon is built from NetPlus® recycled fishing nets: 100% recycled nylon ripstop, spun into fabric in Japan.
At 10 denier and 27 grams per square meter, it's barely there. Downproof, windproof, and light enough to disappear on your back.
The fabric comes in lots of 110 yards, 220 yards, 330 yards, and so on.
We bought one. At roughly two yards a jacket, that's fewer than 50 cocoons, and then this run is finished. We could have bought more, but in our first year, 220 felt like making for a demand we hadn't earned yet.
The cap isn't a shortage, and it isn't a stunt. It's a decision to make fewer, make them well, and let the people who show up early own something limited.
Made slowly, on purpose, in the most literal way possible.
